SOC 220 - Globalization

Globalization is the transplanetary process or set of processes involving increasing liquidity and growing multidirectional flows of people, objects, places and information as well as the structures they encounter and create that are barriers to, or expedite, those flows (Ritzer and Dean 2009, p. 2). This course explores the global nature of contemporary social change, as well as the impact of global trade, economic interdependence and health status on the worlds' developing cultures.
