MAT 261 - Discrete Mathematics


3 Credits

This course introduces students to writing rigorous proofs in the context of discrete structures. Topics include propositional and predicative logic, set theory, elementary proof techniques, relations, functions or sets, induction, elementary number theory (integers, and their properties), combinatorics (permutations, counting principles), and basic discrete probability.
Prerequisites: MAT 171 .
