EQU 401 - Equine Medical Management


3 Credits

This course provides an in-depth look at various aspects of preventive medicine, diagnosis, and treatment of medical concerns in equines.  The course examines the roles of owner, stable manager, veterinarian, and complementary practitioners with the goal of understanding how best to facilitate collaborative relationships among the members of the care management team.  In addition, students learn how to assess the seriousness of any equine medical problem and take appropriate action. 
Prerequisites: EQU 251 .
