SPA 103 - Conversational Spanish

This introductory-level course aims to provide primary language instruction in Spanish. Students will practice engaging in beginner-level conversations while developing A1-A2 level communication skills. In addition, students will explore various diverse cultures where currently Spanish is the spoken language. The course will provide general travel tips. Based on the reason for travel, students will learn how to research and determine what they need to know about the destination. In addition, even if travel is not intended, this course will provide basic communication skills that can be used in everyday life situations, where conversations with Spanish-speaking individuals take place daily, such as with neighbors, co-workers, and people one meets in businesses. Key topics include basic Spanish, A1-A2 level conversation skills, travel tips, diversity, history, culture, and daily communication.

This course may be used to satisfy the Liberal Arts elective requirement for all programs.
