N 566 - Psych Specialty for Advanced Practice

This didactic course will provide the students with knowledge of substance use disorder with an emphasis on the adolescent population, and implementation of a patient-centered plan of care involving the family. Students will apply evidence-based knowledge, current clinical guidelines, and mental health assessment tools for the formulation of individualized and culturally competent care, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Knowledge learned in this course will be validated during the preceptorship learning experience.
