BSN 437PE - Health Assessment

This course provides students with intergraded functional health assessment knowledge and practical applications of physical assessment. The integrated health assessment includes physical, social, cultural, psychological, and spiritual components across the lifespan. Emphasis will be placed on developing and using therapeutic communication skills. This course includes 30 hours of practice experience activities. All students may submit a video recording of a complete head-to-toe assessment. A complete head-to-toe assessment is required for Tennessee residents. Washington students must submit a video of each assessment completed in Shadow Health (history, HEENT, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Abdominal, Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Skin, Hair, Nails, Conversation Concept Lab, Focused Exam: Chest pain on Brian Foster, Focused Exam: Abdominal pain with Esther Parks, Focused Exam: Cough with Danny Rivera, comprehensive assessment with Tina. This course requires the purchase of the Shadow Health software for an estimated price of $90 - $110.
