HEA 510 - The New Post-Secondary Student

This course analyzes trends and issues related to post-secondary students and the effects of those trends and issues on higher education. The course focuses on the history, philosophy, and purposes of student affairs administration, examining its theoretical and practical foundations. A broad theoretical framework will be covered to approach work with students and stakeholders in student affairs. Topics include seminal theories to engage learners and provide a general context that informs work in student affairs and services on a university campus. Aspects of post-secondary student services will be analyzed for applicability to online and traditional higher education models.
