BUS 665 - Unleashing and Sustaining Innovation in Organizations

3 Credits

While the term innovation is often associated with a new product, this project-based learning course takes a more inclusive view of innovation. The key question in this course is how organizations innovate themselves, their business models, their processes, their procedures, their target markets, and so on to remain viable in an ever more rapidly changing global marketplace. While innovation of a new product is certainly part of that overall view, it is only a small part of it. In this course innovation of products and services is viewed as the inevitable outcome of innovative organizations that scan their environments and not only react to changes but anticipate such changes and that are proactive, meeting the needs of their markets before these markets are even fully formed and in some cases even help shape such markets.
