PSY 200 - Psychological Development Across the Lifespan


3 Credits

This course focuses on stages of human psychological development throughout the lifespan. Psychological development of the infant, child, adolescent, adult, and older adult will be examined. Concepts, theories, and empirical findings related to cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development will be emphasized. Attention will be given to the key developmental issues including continuity vs. discontinuity (stage theories) and the influences of nature and nurture. Students will reflect on how diverse sociocultural experiences and perspectives impact development.
Prerequisites: PSY 101 .
