BIO 320 - Evolution


3 Credits

Evolutionary biology is a central and unifying theme for all of biology. All organisms on earth share a common ancestry and this course will explore the diversification of life on earth from its origin. Basic evolutionary principles and emphasized topics will include natural selection, adaptation, coevolution, speciation, macroevolutionary patterns and processes, population genetics, systematics, and human evolution. Primary literature will be analyzed and discussed for further understanding.
Prerequisites: BIO 143 , BIO 144 , and CHM 115 .
