Students who enroll in Post University's online Graduate Certificate in Learning Design and Technology will develop their learning design and technology integration skills to be prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities in the fields of education or corporate training. Coursework will introduce students to common instructional design models, practices, and processes and will give them opportunities to explore current and emerging technologies. Students will also examine ways in which technology can be infused into a variety of learning environments that may include a diverse audience of learners. These activities are supported by the latest research from the ever-evolving fields of instructional design and instructional technology. Students will also gain skills in project management which are specifically focused on the instructional design process, and will have the advantage of being able to personalize their learning experience in the program by creating projects that are personally relevant to their current professional environments.
Credits earned with this certificate are transferable to the Master of Education degree at Post University.
Learning Design and Technology Graduate Certificate Outcomes
- Students will apply theories of design and instruction to the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of educational experiences and events.
- Students will develop instructional plans, strategies, and materials that are appropriate for a variety of learner characteristics, including global learners and learners with special needs.
- Students will integrate technology into an instructional event that supports the use of Bloom's digital/revised taxonomy.
- Students will apply their growing understanding of project management principles and techniques to a real or proposed technology-infused educational program/project over a 5-year timeline.
