SOC 312 - Race and Ethnicity 3 Credits
This course explores racial and ethnic identities and how race affects individuals' experiences, life chances, and access to societal resources. Topics will include the history and culture of marginalized groups, social representations of difference, privilege, and social justice activism. Special attention will be given to the intersectional nature of social identity and oppression, taking into consideration how gender, class, and sexual orientation interconnect with racial identity. Prerequisites: SOC 101 .
