HRM 305 - Managing a Diverse Workplace 3 Credits
This course explores contemporary views of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through a lens of diversity consciousness. Human diversity will be comprehensively defined and assessed. Some of the topics emphasized include social and cultural factors and experiences, and organizational dimensions based on organizational affiliations and cultural influences. The course explores how individuals think and communicate personal attributes. Strategies for implementing diversity initiatives and building cooperation and trust among diverse work groups will be examined. An emphasis is placed on the role of the leader as a positive change agent in D & I initiatives. Future trends in diversity and inclusion and their respective impact on today's organizations will be explored and discussed for practical applications.
This course fulfills a Social Science elective.
Prerequisites: MGT 105 .
