BIO 235 - Zoology 3 Credits
This course provides an in-depth exploration of animal diversity. Topics include the study of structure, physiology, evolution, ecology, classification, and behavior of organisms within the major invertebrate and vertebrate animal phyla. Through lectures and field trips, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the world of animals, their ecological roles, and their evolutionary adaptations. Inquiry-based study in the concurrent laboratory component (BIO 235L ) provides hands-on application of the lecture material through observation and dissection of representative members of each phylum. Prerequisites: BIO 143 and BIO 144 .
