MBA 530 - Healthcare Financial Management

In today's healthcare environment, it is essential to possess and apply the financial skills introduced in financial management. The Healthcare Financial Management course introduces MBA-HC learners to the fundamental concepts and skills necessary to succeed as healthcare managers in an increasingly competitive environment. In this course, we will explore principles of finance and economics, and their implications for management and organization as applied to healthcare organizations. Topics include reimbursement for healthcare services, estimating costs and budgeting, managing financial operations, and financial statement and ratio analysis. The impact of current regulatory reforms in the United States on healthcare financial management professionals will also be examined. Microsoft Excel is used to demonstrate the integral role of software in healthcare financial management and decision-making.
