SOC 324 - Deviant Behavior

3 Credits

This course will examine deviance and deviant behaviors, with specific attention given to how society defines and constructs deviances. Topics covered include childhood and adult deviance, crime, interpersonal violence, addiction, and deviance surrounding sexuality. The stigma of deviance, and in particular the stigmatization of marginalized groups, will also be considered and consequences on individuals and society will be explored.
Prerequisites: SOC 101.
